- A Precious Old Place
= interviewer / = interviewee
Mr and Mrs. Jones, and miss Clark are came from Texas, United States. They were enjoying an 8-days trip to Hong Kong. During their journey, they planed to spend half day in travelling Sham Shui Po.
: Why do you choose travelling Sham Shui Po?
:Oh yes, we actually want to shop here. We want to buy some fabric.
: So why would you like to shop here, instead of shopping in somewhere else?
: It’s cheap! I know there are lots of fabrics and handicrafts, and they are all cheap.
: Besides shopping, what would you also do here? Like eating?
: Sure! Just now we have lunch in a Chinese restaurant here.
: Some people may think Sham Shui Po is an old place. What do you think after travelling here?
: No no no. I think this is a place worth travelling. We are happy here, cause we can but cheap things, as well as eat traditional Chinese food here.
: Thanks for your participation. Hope you enjoy your trip in Hong Kong.
Apart from interviewing foreign visitors, we have also interviewed a local Hong Kong people while we were eating in Wai Kee Noodle Cafe. Mr Fok lives in Shek Kip Mei, which is quite near Sham Shui Po.
: How often do you eat in this restaurant?
: Em… almost twice a week.
: Why you choose come to eat here, since you are not living in Sham Shui Po.
: I love the pork liver noodle here. I order it every time I come. That’s why I often come here and eat after work.
: Besides, pork liver noodle, what other dishes would you recommend?
: The Kaya sauce toast and coffee of this restaurant are also famous.
: Do you prefer eating in a traditional restaurant than a new restaurant?
: I think eating in a traditional is totally different from eating in a new restaurant. It’s all about habit and memories. For me, I have eating here more than ten years. I also know the shop owner. An old restaurant can just give you a sense of familiar.
: Thanks so much for your participation.
